Mom had some minor surgery (out patient) on friday. I think she is doing pretty good and will be ok going home today.


Edit: She thinks she should stay one more day.

My mom is having minor surgery on Friday morning, so once that is done, I'll be brining her back to my place for the weekend. Neither of my sisters offered, and I doubt very seriously it even crossed their self absorbed minds to consider taking care of our mom after her surgery. It's no wonder she keeps telling me that I am her favorite.


Hmmm.. I wonder if I could get in a clone project while she is staying with me.

I worked a little late yesterday, to work on a backup issue we have been having at work. I got home just in time to change my clothes and grab my bowling ball. Bowled pretty well I think the first 2 games I was above my average by 30 to 40 pins, but the last game was pretty bad, about 25 pins below my average. We still took all 4 points to win.

Talked with Jimmy yesterday about coming out to Boston maybe sometime around Memorial day. Either that or we all meet up in Chicago for IML. I'm not real sure I would want to go to Chicago for that. He asked if wanted to go to New York at the end of this month for the Black party, and I respectfully declined.

The "service engine soon" light came on on my truck this morning while coming into work. I'll need to call the repair man to get it in and serviced.

Me posting on a weekend? lol

Didn't do a damn thing friday after work. Came home and cleaned some then spent the rest of the night on the couch in front of the tv.

Saturday, went over to Lindsy's (more on her later), to catch up and she had promised lunch, but forgot to fill her propane tank. We ended up just drinking a lot of wine and talking for I think about 4 hours. I left her place more than tipsy. I did take a lot of picutures though while I was there. They can be viewed on my flicker site at Click here Once I got home I took a nap for a good hour. Then I met up with pupdadco and hairofthedawg at Wynkoop's for dinner and drinks, though I did not drink anything but water..

It was great catching up with you two, and I'm sorry I've been so reclusive. I promise that is going to change.

I went over to Wayne's for a dinner party. His new bf is in town for 2 weeks, and Wayne wanted a little get together at his place so everyone could meet Jason. Jason did all the cooking from my understanding. Dinner consisted of salad, Pork loin roast with a ginger sauce, steamed veggies, mashed potato's and some sort of chocolate pie. It was all very good.

After dinner we all played trivial pursuit. It was a very good evening.

I've been somewhat sick the last few weeks with either the chest cold going around, then walking pneumonia, and the latest is the shingles.

I hope to never get these again. They are the most painful things I have ever experienced. Even worse than the knee surgery I had last year.

I am feeling better though, and think I might venture out this evening. If anything, to go check up on Patrick to make sure he is doing good. He had sinus surgery yesterday morning.

When I got home from work yesterday, I immediately crashed on the couch and slept for 3 hours. Normally a nap for me is 45 minutes to an hour. My energy level is not what it should be. I don't feel sick, just drained.

I was awakened by Patrick calling me, telling me that we were going to dinner, and to come over. Got myself together, and arrived at Patrick's. Chatted for a bit, then headed over to Tommy's Tai, to meet up with Peter.

I've never really been a fan of Tai food, so I went with the Chinese side of the menu and had Sesame Chicken.

After dinner we headed over to JR's for a drink. Then went home and straight to bed.

Get dressed in the dark, half baked from the night before, or this could happen to you.

I over slept.  And I am getting sick.  Mostly because of the lack of sleep.  Good thing is I got all the projects done a week early, so now I will have nothing to worry about next week.  I was also told I can work half days next monday - wedneday. 

No weekend plans either.  sleep, sleep, sleep. 

Well maybe a drink here and there.

I've been working till about 11pm each night this week to get a few minor projects done before I leave for Boston next Wednesday.  I'm finding the lack of sleep is making me cranky and on edge. 

Since I quit smoking back on July 25th, I have gained 15 lbs.  I've got a small gut again.  It also seems that I have gained some in my legs.  My jeans are still comfortable around the waist, but not so much in the legs.

Canceled my blood work for this quarter because my insurance has changed and coverage is not what it was.  With what I have now, if I were to get the blood work done, I would be dishing out nearly 300 just for them to tell me I'm healthy.  Since my counts came back so well last time, I think that is a good justification for canceling.

Thanksgiving has never really been one of my favorite holiday's and this year was not exception.  

I spent the actual day at home alone, which I really didn't mind too much.  It was nice to have the down time from work, friends, and family. 

Saturday this year was the actual celebration for my family, and was held at my sisters house. 

Sunday Patrick came home from his family's in Wyoming.  Met him at the Wrangler for the beer bust, but didn't stay long

A week from today I will be flying to Boston for a short 5 day vacation.
